From Memphis International to London Heathrow
There’s something magical about setting out on a journey that promises to change you, and this summer, I’m trading the Memphis heat for the crisp, bustling charm of the UK. The thought of photographing landmarks like Big Ben, the Tower Bridge, and hidden alleys bursting with character is thrilling. But beyond the iconic sites, I’m eager to capture the daily life of the city—the locals sipping tea, street performers in Covent Garden, and even the unpredictable rain that’s bound to challenge my outdoor shooting plans. As I head to London, I’m carrying more than just my camera gear and travel essentials. My itinerary is already packed!

Alongside photography lectures, I plan to explore art galleries, visit historic castles, and indulge in classic British afternoon tea. I’m especially looking forward to wandering through neighborhoods like Margate and Notting Hill, camera in hand, capturing snapshots of life in all its color and texture.
Of course, this journey isn’t just about academics or travel; it’s about personal growth. Studying abroad is as much about the moments of awe as it is about the challenges. Getting lost in a foreign city, navigating new public transport systems, or simply figuring out how to order coffee in a way that doesn’t scream tourist—these experiences will shape me as much as the lectures and photo assignments.
So here’s to a summer of adventure, discovery, and finding beauty in the unfamiliar. London, I’m ready for you. Stay tuned for snapshots and stories from across the pond!
